Kansas City is a sprawling city situated on the border of Missouri and Kansas, known as the City of Fountains for its incredible number of fountains second only to Rome. The city is a midwestern hub for arts, culture and technology, home to the Nelson-Atkins Musuem of Art, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the Starlight Theatre and the Kansas City Symphony, located at the exquisite Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Many well known companies call Kansas City home, including Hallmark, Sprint, Cerner, H&R Block, and Garmin.
Recently, Kansas City was chosen as the flagship city for Google's new internet service, Google Fiber, a venture aimed at making gigabit residential, business and academic internet both common and affordable. The city also has a lively student population thanks to its many colleges and universities, including the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Rockhurst University, and the Kansas City Art Institute, among others.
And of course, no visit to Kansas City is complete without sampling the city's legendary barbeque and locally brewed Boulevard beer.
